Pre-Purchase Counseling

For first-time homebuyers, the process of buying a home can be intimidating and confusing. The Housing Coalition assists first-time homebuyers by providing education and support throughout the process.

In individual counseling sessions, Coalition staff:

Review the household’s income, expenses, and credit history
Estimate the amount of mortgage that the household can afford
Explain basic mortgage terminology and guidelines
Provide referrals to affordable mortgages
Assist with credit repair and budgeting, as needed
