Middlesex Match (Homesharing)

Middlesex Match assists clients who are in need of housing by matching those with underutilized housing (at least one extra bedroom) with those who wish to share rooms.

Participants in this program must be able to live independently without supportive services. In general, households with children are difficult to place because most providers do not have adequate living space to accommodate a family.

Coalition staff work with seekers and providers to:

Identify the needs that homesharing can address (financial, companionship, etc.)
Identify preferences (comfort with or objections to smoking, pets, etc.)
Introduce prospective homesharers
Provide on-going counseling and support, as needed, to those who are matched
Assist applicants in considering other housing options, as appropriate
